Experience one of Cusco’s most iconic hikes on a full-day group tour to Rainbow Mountain, also known as the Mountain of 7 Colors. Its striking natural bands of red, green, yellow, and ochre create one of the most extraordinary landscapes in the Vilcanota Mountain Range. The service begins with pickup from your hotel or an agreed meeting point in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m., before traveling south with fellow travelers.
The first stop will be in Pitumarca, a traditional Andean village where the group will enjoy a buffet breakfast before continuing by tourist transport to the starting point of the hike. Along the way, you will see rural landscapes, mountains, and herds of llamas and alpacas characteristic of this high-Andean region.
From the valley near Vinicunca, the group will begin the hike toward Rainbow Mountain. The route crosses high-altitude scenery, so the group will proceed at a calm, suitable pace, with opportunities to hydrate, rest, and admire views of the snow-capped peaks of the mountain range, including the impressive Ausangate.
Upon reaching Vinicunca’s main viewpoint, located at approximately 5,100 to 5,200 meters above sea level, you will be able to admire the famous natural stripes that give Rainbow Mountain its name. It will be the ideal time to take photos, enjoy the Andean landscape, and share a unique experience with fellow travelers before beginning the return hike along the same route.
After the return hike, the group will enjoy a buffet lunch to regain energy. Finally, you will travel back to Cusco by tourist transport, completing a shared experience in one of the most impressive landscapes of the Peruvian Andes.
