We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. (we can also pick you up from the airport in Cusco). Our first destination will be Ollantaytambo, an imposing Inca city built with monumental stone blocks. We will visit the religious sector, where we will walk among the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Water, and the magnificent Inca terraces. Afterward, we will walk to the old urban sector to visit an authentic Inca house and discover its interior layout.
From there we will continue our journey to Moray, an enigmatic Inca agricultural laboratory formed by circular Andean terraces, unique in Peru and in the world. We will visit two of the four sets of terraces found in this area; the first impression is that of contemplating a great natural amphitheater.
Then we will head to the impressive Maras salt mines to discover how the Incas extracted this precious mineral through a system of thousands of salt pans, a method that the people of Maras still use today.
Returning to our transportation, we will head toward the archaeological site of Pisac, located high above the town. Pisac is an extraordinary citadel with the most extensive Inca terraces in the Sacred Valley and a vibrant native community in its surroundings.
Finally, we will descend to the famous traditional Pisac market, where you will have free time to stroll, immerse yourself in the colorful atmosphere, shop for local handicrafts, and taste the delicious traditional empanadas freshly baked in the colonial oven.
The tour ends and we will transfer you back to your hotel.
